Learn to dance the vibrant and exciting latin dance of Cuban Salsa! At our Sundays nights in Stratford-Upon-Avon, we run 6 week salsa dance courses every Sunday for complete beginner. We have plenty of experience teaching people of all abilities, from all walks of life at our dance classes: no matter what your ability, level or experience.

Explore the page to learn more, then book your place!

Beginners, we teach you everything...

you need to build up your salsa dancing skills (from scratch): focusing on the foundation steps/moves. We teach through courses, where each new week we review all the previous material so that you can grow confident and succeed in your salsa dancing (while having a great time doing so!). By doing this, you get lots of practice so that you come away feeling the satisfaction of succeeding and being confident with what you’ve learned. Also, if you can’t make it to class for whatever reason (holiday, work etc) it’s okay to miss a week or two because we always recap the material done so far.  We designed this to fit around busy lives!

Location

We have students from all over Warwickshire learning salsa at our Stratford-Upon-Avon class nights. Located in the brilliant function room 1 at The Home Guard Club in Tiddington, Stratford-Upon-Avon, we are conveniently situated just 7 minutes drive east of Stratford-Upon-Avon centre, along the Tiddington Road. This makes us easily accessible for the people of Wellesbourne, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Bidford-Upon-Avon, Shipston-on-Stour, Redditch and other places (Drive times are listed above). The Home Guard Club also has a secure, well-lit car park making it an ideal spot for Stratford-Upon-Avon’s top up-and-coming salsa dance club.

Why Salsa Dance Classes?

Cuban Salsa dancing is an amazing hobby for adults of all ages. Why? It’s danceable by all. Commonly danced as a social dance in partners (not romantic partners!), it is an exciting yet simple dance (despite appearances). More informal and down-to-earth than ballroom dancing, and with more caribbean-style than Ceroc, Salsa dancing is growing in popularity in the UK as its colourful cuban music gets more international exposure. People of all walks are discovering how Cuban Salsa dancing combines all the best things about social dancing: its fun, active, sociable, exciting, and exotic, while still being doable by adults of all ages. Give it a Go: now’s the time to start!

FAQs

Anyone. Singles, Couples, Groups. It doesn’t matter. Its a group-focused thing, so you don’t need a partner. It’s entirely up to you whether you come alone, with friends, family, colleagues or a partner. Everyone is in the same boat: learning and dancing together.

Two-left feet, No rhythm. We’ve heard it all. In fact, most people who come to us put themselves in this camp. And pretty much all of them learn to dance salsa. So yes, you probably can do this! With the right instruction (from us) and willingness (from you) you will learn to dance salsa.

Most people who come to learn are nervous. That’s perfectly normal with something totally new like learning to dance. Many people find that once they arrive and start to learn, along with others in the same boat, that the nerves begin to fade. We start slowly focusing on first steps and take the pressure off by giving you lots of practice so that you start to build confidence from the off. Plus, we like to think we’re pretty friendly and welcoming!

Its £10 per night, or £50 for the full course (£10 off). If its your first time you can try out the first class for £10 and pay off the balance on your second visit if you wish to pay for the course. You can use your 6 night course pass on any of our nights within the current cycle as you wish. But please note that it’s not transferable to the next cycle.

Yes. We aim to make sure each and every one of you is having a great time and progressing at a speed that feels comfortable. We understand everyone learns at different rates and retains information differently, and let you decide how far you want to push yourself. Also we’ll give you as much extra individual help as you want or need.

Absolutely. Come along to one session and see how you like it. No commitment needed and no pressure.

YES. We know memory space gets clogged up with the day to day… work, kids, life etc. so weekly recaps will give you the extra practice and consolidation time to help salsa stick.

Absolutely! Because Salsa is a social dance, you do not need a partner. In the classes, you will meet and dance with other people in the group who are in the same boat as you. This means everyone can shake off the nerves together as they learn and develop together. And before you know it, you’ll be friendly and familiar everyone in the group.

No, no issue. We do plenty of catch up in each class so if you’re going to miss a week or 2 then we can help you to catch up.

Yes sure, you can join on the second night if need be as we cover all of the material in this session. Check the location page for joining dates.

Yourself! You don’t need to bring anything, there’s a bar at all the venues so you can get yourself a beverage. You can bring dance shoes if you have them. Some people bring a change of t-shirt and a towel (if they are planning to dance a lot. Personal hygiene is very important especially as we are all dancing together). Bring your aftershave/perfume and deodorant, so you are smelling as fresh as you look :).

You can wear whatever you like. My only recommendation would be something comfortable, that you can move in. You will get hot when you dance, so layers are a good option. Plus, this is the UK, so you’ll need them for when you go home! Shoes… Men, anything from smart shoes to trainers. Ladies… the same, smart shoes, trainers, if you want to wear heels I would recommend something not too high, and when you’re ready, we can talk dance shoes!

Definitely, and we encourage it. We have freestyle dancing each night so you can stay, get a drink, have a chat and dance.

Anyone over the age of 18, free of injury.
